I met Katie and James a couple years back in a tiny mountain town called Stanley, Idaho. I was there photographing one of my favorite weddings ever for my friends Blake and Emily. Katie and James are best friends with Katie and James - and in fact they were the Maid of Honor and Best Man at this wedding in the mountains.
When Katie and James reached out to me to shoot engagement photos, I was so excited to get to see them and hang out - shooting beautiful photos for an evening was just the icing on the cake.
We started off our shoot, as with any great shoot, at a brewery. This one happened to be one of my favorite locals - Sockeye Brewing.
After a few pints of Boise best, we took to the Greenbelt to seek out the most beautiful pockets of light we could find, in which there were no shortage of. After traipsing through the INSANELY beautiful greenery, we changed it up by heading downtown to play around at the recently built JUMP building to get some dramatic shots in the unique architecture.
At this point the sun was setting and our engagement session was coming to an end. We finished off the night with a trip to Mulligans - a small local bar and the very place that they had met. After a few farewell drinks, it was time to wrap up our shoot. This was one of my favorite shoots I’ve done and I am so happy to share them with you here.
Hope you enjoy.
