Taking photos of friends, with friends, in the foothills of Boise, Idaho
I have had the pleasure of being photographed by my friend Emily a couple of times with my girlfriend Taleah. So it was a perfect ‘full circle’ moment when I got to shoot her and her boyfriend Kyle up in the foothills above Boise.
I love getting done with a shoot that just makes you feel good about humans in general. Emily and her boyfriend Kyle were so much fun to work with and made it so easy to shoot.
Sessions like this are my favorite because it restores our sometimes tainted view of humanity - (damn news cycles, am I right?) I get super happy and will often find a big dumb grin on my face while I edit because I can still feel the love between them. That's what I strive for with every single session.
The sun was hiding just behind the clouds for the first half of the shoot, which created a very even and moody beginning. After they changed into their second look, as if it was choreographed, the sun dipped below the clouds and gave us a brilliant warm and romantic sunset. Although you always want the light to work exactly as you plan, it rarely will do just that. Sometimes we are at the mercy of Mother Nature, and we just need to adjust, and appreciate the chaos.
Here are the photos I made, I hope you enjoy them.
